Kylix

Attic, 460 – 450 BC

Black-glazed clay, added red. Red-figure kylix. Within a thin red circle a woman seated on a stool to left; she wears a mantle which is muffled closely around her neck, and a saccos, in front of her a kalathos with loose wool threads. Two sandals on the left. Around upper and right part of design inscription in added red HO PAIS (left) KALOS (right). Surface in good condition; recomposed from fragments with small areas of modern infill.
