Head vase of the Cook Class

Attic, circa 490 BC

Black-glazed clay, details in added white.
Oinochoe in form of a woman´s head. Black glazed clay for upper head, trefoil mouth, handle and a band at the base of the vase. Eyes, pupils and eyebrows are indicated in black and white. Several rows of stylized curls along the hair line. She wears a saccos decorated with a wreath of myrtle leaves. Handle partly restored and reattached, vessel intact.
