Fine grained marble.
H 11.6 cm
Fragmentary preserved head, probably of a sarcophagus figure with hair parted in the centre, part of which is tied into a bow at the top of the head. The other part is loosely tied at the side. The pupils are drilled. Small abrasions on the nose.
Provenance
German private collection J. R. (1941-2021), acquired between 1960 and 1990 on the European art market – mainly in the 1970s and 1980s at auctions in London.
