Roman, 2nd century AD
Clay with red-brown slip.
L 12.6 cm
Disc-shaped lamp with round nozzle and handle. The discus framed by concentric circles decorated with a bucolic scene with a shepherd sitting under a tree milking a goat. A vent hole above the shepherds head and a second small vent hole below the scene. On the rim grapes and grape leaves. With maker´s mark on the underside: L DOMITI PAVLI and circle and angle ornaments on the rim. Intact.
