Handle of a jug

Etruscan, 5th century BC

Bronze. Handle of a jug cast with a lion‘s head and two lions at the rim. Incised details for mane, face, paws and coat. At the base a palmette. The handle was attached with pins to thevessel. Intact, a pin in each lion‘s paw and palmette preserved.
