Warrior with shield

Umbrian, 500 - 450 BC

Solid-cast bronze. Nude figure of a warrior depicted in striding position. The whole left arm concealed by an oval shield. His upraised right arm originally held a lance. Eyes, right nipple and navel indicated as embossed circles and mouth as an incised notch. Genital indicated. Unbroken; right lower arm and feet missing, shield slightly worn.
