Cymbals

Roman, 1st – 2nd century AD

Lead. Intact, handles missing. A pair of votive cymbals. The interiors decorated with the god Apollo standing next to a column and Eros with a wreath in his hands. On the column a harp. The broad rims decorated with dots and circles. The exteriors with floral motives and circles.

 

Private collection C.-A., Geneva - Switzerland, acquired in the 1960s and 1970s.
