Roman, 2nd century AD, H 8.8 cm   H 3½ in.

Marble. Head of a bust or statuette of Serapis with wavy hair, moustache and curly beard.

The unfinished surface of the backside suggests that the head stood in a niche or in front of a

wall. With socket for calathos. Calathos and nose missing; some slight surface damage.
