Alabastron

Eastern Mediterranean, 6th – 4th Century BC
Cobalt blue glass, opaque yellow and white glass for the thread.
H 8.8 cm

Alabastron in sand core technique with cylindrical body, short neck and flat rim. A yellow thread attached at rim edge. Corpus decorated with opaque yellow and white feather pattern, which ends as a surrounding band in the lower area. Recomposed from two fragments; small part filled in, part of one handle missing.
