Lekanis attributed to the Lampas Painter

Campanian, 4th Century BC
Black-glazed clay and added white.
H 13.5 cm L 20.7 cm

Attributed by A. D. Trendall.

Red figured two-piece lekanis. On one side of the lid is a kneeling woman with a mirror in her right hand. In front of her a dove. On the opposite side is a winged Eros crouching beside a rock. Palmettes in between, a wave pattern on the rim. Lid intact, lower part assembled.
