Handle of an oinochoe

Greek, 6th century BC

Bronze.

H 14.7 cm B 9.8 cm

Handle cast with two lions at the rim; their heads turned outwards. Incised details for mane, face, paws and coat. At the base a palmette. The handle was attached with pins to the vessel. Intact.
