Handle

Greek, 5th century BC
Bronze.
H 11.6 cm

Handle of an oinochoe cast with a lion‘s head in the centre and two lions at the rim. The tails of the outer lions form the frame for the thumb rest. Incised details for mane, face, paws and coat. At the base a palmette. The handle was attached with pins to the vessel. Intact.
